I recommand using Playonlinux, which is a graphical interface for wine. Don’t install Playonlinux from Ubuntu official repository since the version is not up to date. Instead, do:
$wget -q "http://deb.playonlinux.com/public.gpg" -O- | sudo apt-key add - $sudo wget http://deb.playonlinux.com/playonlinux_precise.list -O /etc/apt/sources.list.d/playonlinux.list $sudo apt-get update $sudo apt-get install playonlinux
Please, note that you must also installed wine separately:
sudo apt-get install wine
Then insert your Microsoft Office 2010 install dvd or put the files on a usb key or your hard drive. If you have an iso file, mount it:
sudo mkdir /mnt/iso sudo mount -o loop the-path-to-your-iso-file.iso /mnt/iso
Beware, more recent Office version will not work properly with wine.
Then click on:
- Install a program
- Office icon in the header menu
- Microsoft Office 2010 line
- Other, the type /mnt/iso
Then, you just have to follow the instructions.
